Gwen's first gymnastics meet after her dislocated elbow
After dislocating her elbow, Gwen was in physical therapy for months. When she finally started practicing gymnastics again she was only allowed to stretch. It was over 6 months before she could put any weight on her arm. During this time her gymnastics team dissolved and a new team, with most of the same coaches, was created. Gwen started working with Ray Corn, the retired USU Women Gymnastics Coach for over 30 years. In September 2010 Gwen was back in action. She had finally gotten the OK from her doctor that her elbow was healed and her strength and mobility were ready for tumbling. Ray started her intense training and continued it right up til this first meet. She had one shot to score 31+ to move up to the next level. The level she missed because of her injury.
Gwen took 4th place with a score of 32.5. Now it's time to start working on level 6!
